My Rehearsal Dinner: The Design Details

shannon snow August 3, 2016

In my last post, I talked about the design work I did for my wedding. Well, guess what? It doesn't end there. There's my rehearsal dinner, too!

My wedding's color palette was very clean: white and greenery. So I wanted the rehearsal dinner to be colorful and bold! My florist really set the mood with jewel-toned candles and luscious floral arrangements. Hand-lettered agate slices served as place cards for my guests.

There were little gift bags for my guests, which were full of little Savannah-inspired treasures. I made these by using simple paper bags, which I dressed up by adding a little bit of greenery and stamping with black wax. Take a closer look at the wax seal - it's my astrological sign! Proud Libra over here.

My Wedding: The Design Details

shannon snow July 2, 2016

We did it - Britt and I made it official. We're married!

Our wedding day was a blur. We spent countless hours preparing for it, and then it just flew by! I wish I could go back and relive that entire day. Fortunately, I have beautiful photos by my friend and talented photographer Mackensey Alexander to remember it by.

I've done a lot of design-y things for other people's weddings. Paper goods, mostly. It's one of my favorite things to do, actually! And for my wedding, I knew I had to go ALL OUT. After all, as an illustrator and a designer, I really wanted my wedding to be a reflection of me.

First of all, Britt and I collaborated on the invitations. Britt created a tarot-inspired illustration for our save-the-dates. I designed and hand-lettered everything else, including a logo that could be printed on different things: napkins, to-go cups, you name it.

Also, I needed some good signage! My dad built some sandwich boards, which I hand-lettered on. To make them extra special, I added a bit of gold foil.

I really did have so much working on all the details of our wedding. I would love to do it all over it again. So... if you need some design work done for YOUR wedding, you know where to find me.

Yeah! My clients were very happy with their final product.  I wish them a beautiful wedding and marriage.  I'm really looking forward to doing more invititations in the future.
